Ashlee Nicole Simpson, younger sister of superstar Jessica Simpson, was born on October 2 1984 in Dallas. This Texas born singer always loved music. At age 11 she was the youngest person ever admitted into the School of American Ballet. At 14 her family shifted to Los Angeles.
Ashlee took to professional dancing and did performances in Jessica's stage shows. The elder Simpson spent three years on tour supporting her sibling and garnering her own fan-base. In 2001 she started a career in entertainment and did some small screen shows like Malcolm in the Middle, The View, Seventh Heaven. 7th Heaven was a break for Ashlee’s acting career wher she landed in a lead role as Cecilia, Simon Camden's love interest. The also did a small stint against Rob Schneider in ’The Hot Chick’, but Ashlee was determined to make a career in music. One of her songs, "Just Let Me Cry", landed on the Freaky Friday soundtrack in 2003 and Ashlee continued work to her solo career in music.
Finally, In 2003, Geffen Records, impressed with Ashlee, signed her to a music deal and Ashlee began working on her first album. Ashlee’s debut album ‘Autobiography’, essentially Rock with an edge of Pop, was released in 2004. At the same time MTV debuted Ashlee's own reality show, The Ashlee Simpson Show.
Her debut album went straight to number one slot, an achievement that big sister Jessica Simpson has never been able to realize. She celebrated her victory by gifting herself a Lexus convertible. ‘Undiscovered’, a song from Ashlee’s album is a personal favorite. This Husky voiced singer is also famous for her song ‘Pieces of Me’. Ashlee co-wrote all the songs in the album.
Ashlee’s love life is full of singer Ryan Cabrera, whom she is currently dating. Ashlee even made an appearance in one of his videos.
Ashlee’s hair color has been an interesting topic of gossip. It is rumoured that to separate herself from her sister's image, Ashlee dyed her blonde hair brown. However, Ashlee can never be confused with her sibling,. Their styles and tastes are way different.
