Laura, Amrita and Legha make up the line-up of the new group to hit the UK. With their unique sound, derived from the many cultural influences within the group, the girls are set to tear up the charts this summer.
Amrita is the oldest member of the group but she has taken on the role of mum and takes her position very seriously, making sure she looks out for her band mates keeping them out of trouble, and making sure they keep to their busy schedule. Amrita is currently on a year out from studying Dentistry, a career the runs in her family. She has put this course on hold in order to pursue her dream of becoming a huge singing sensation. Not only a very talented singer, with grades 1, 2 and 3 in classical singing, Amrita is also extremely beautiful and was Miss India 2004 Worldwide. Bringing her Indian cultures into the group, Amrita adds another slice to their Eastern sound. A keen actress, Amrita has already starred in a film with Richard Blackwood, Laila Rouass and Michelle Collins.
Legha brings her Persian mystique to the Eastern sound of the band to give them a real edge. A keen pianist, Legha has always been fond of writing songs and singing. Throughout her life her grandfather, a famous writer described as the Arabian Shakespeare, has constantly encouraged her to follow her dreams. So when deciding whether to take time out from her Economics degree to pursue a singing career his words came back to her and the decision was decided for her. Legha has already had a taste of the limelight, as she does a great deal of catwalk modelling. She also choreographs a great deal of the shows, warming up her skills for the band.
Laura is the baby of the group, Her Egyptian background adds to the bands cultural mix, and completes their unique line-up. Laura already has a huge fan in Lemar. The UK soul sensation heard Laura sing and asked her to lend her vocals to a new track of his, he rushed her into the studio the very next day so she wasn’t able to change her mind! Laura has trained her beautiful voice perfectly by working very hard to reach grade 9 in Classical singing. Not to be out done by her fellow band mates, Laura is also on a year out from studying. Her degree in medicine is holding until Laura has had an opportunity to follow her dream to become a singer.
Although they are only on their first single, the girls have already worked with many top names in the industry, including top producer Zeus and world famous director Ray Kay, who has most recently worked with Destiny’s Child on their Soldier video. They have also performed alongside Girls Aloud and Big Brovaz at a top awards event, and have been nominated in Best Newcomer categories, against Raghav, at several award shows.
