It all started here, Chris Martin began playing piano as a child, and started in a band at the age of 15. While Jon Buckland, on the other hand, who was into the classic rock guitar of Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix, started playing guitar at the age of 11. Guy Berryman was more of a funk bassist, and Will Champion who mostly played guitar, bass, and tin whistle, started the drums after the band became official.
Coldplay released many EP's before there true hit Yellow was released on the Parachutes album. Parachutes was released in November of 2000, and with their hit single "Yellow", they sold out many vendors.
Then in the fall of 2001, Coldplay headed into the studio to record what was rumored to be their last album. Then in August of 2002 A Rush of Blood to the Head was released. It was an immediate success, with singles such as "Clocks", "The Scientist" and "In My Place" Coldplay became world famous.
The rumors were thickening, and most people thought that was the end of Coldplay, but just 3 years later the released the single "Speed of Sound" followed by their third major album X&Y. It was an immediate success topping the charts, and the rest is history.
